These are the Columbia Silver Ridge pants by ColumbiaSportswear. If you’re not familiar with Columbia, they are an outdoor sportswear company based out of Portland, Oregon.
Material
The pants are a hundred percent nylon and they have mesh pockets. This mesh is a hundred percent polyester.
They are very light and very thin and have nice flexibility. Stepping up, climbing, and squatting is not a problem.
Features
There are two different cargo pockets. They’ve got a Velcro sealed pocket on one side, it’s pretty deep. And then on the other side is a zipper pocket for all your valuables, to keep those nice and secure. Also featured are two back pockets which are Velcro as well.
These pants feature Columbias’ Omni Wick technology, as well as their Omni Shade technology.
The Omni Wick, wicks moisture away to keep you nice and dry. The Omni shade provides up to 50 UPF sun protection.
So these are designed to keep you nice and cool, nice and dry during the summertime, during the heat.
The material is water resistant, not waterproof. However, with that Omni Wick technology, they do dry out fairly fast.
Sizing
I ordered these pants in a size 38/34. I am six foot four myself and I wear either a size 40 waist or a size 38. I went with the 38 and these are a little snug, so they are true to size.
They do have a bit of elastic in the waist that allows them to stretch out for size.
There are belt loops all the way around the pants. They do come with this belt that you see here, just a little snap enclosure, and this can be removed fairly quickly.
Also Available
Also available is an convertible option so you can convert them into shorts on the trail, off the trail, you just store the legs in one of the cargo pockets and keep going.
